One of the more significant issues at present involves the property at 32nd Ave and Bird Rd. (Old K-Mart site)

This property was recently leased to Home Depot. As you can imagine this will have a significant impact for the Grove.

We believe this is not a positive development for the Coconut Grove community. At a recent Center Grove Association meeting, Al Norman, founder of Sprawl-Busters.com, presented a convincing argument against such retail establishments setting up shop in small towns.

An increase in crime, decrease in property values, drastic increase in traffic and loss of local business are just some of the negative effects surrounding such stores.

We have a document discussing this particular location and the results it will have on the Grove. It can be viewed here

We have set up an online discussion area in order to hear as many opinions as possible.

The Home Depot discussion site is a free, private non-commercial site. Home Depot discussions can be read by anyone, and we welcome all opinions.
